yes, these lenses all work on a canon digital slr. i have used all of these lenses with my canon xti digital slr.

these lenses work on all canon cameras with an EF mount.

I love my Canon EF 28-135mm IS USM lens! It is a great lens and the image stabilization is great for close up shots or distant shots!

sure, the canon 28-135mm IS would be ideal for family event pics because it has image stabilization (if you shake or move slightly, the lens can prevent blurry pics) and it covers wide angle (28mm) for group shots and medium range (up to 135mm) for kids or people interacting. however, this lens is more expensive cuz its kinda fancy

for beginners, i'd recommend the canon 28-105mm because it also covers wide angle (28mm) and it still reaches medium range (105mm) although not as much as the first lens. thus its cheaper than the first lens, but it is still a good step up from a normal kit lens with limited zoom (like 18-55mm) and slower focusing.

both these lenses i am selling have ultrasonic focusing, canon's term for FAST and silent focusing so you can catch those special moments on camera. i have moved up progressively also, starting with a kit lens, then moving to the 28-105, then as i grew more experienced to the 28-135mm IS, and now i feel ready to move up to an L lens.
