FS: Canon 85 1.8 w/hood
I have a pristine condition 85 1.8 that I hardly use and due to its focal length. It's a very sharp copy and is clean from front to back. I have both front and rear lens caps + original box. I also have the hood for it.
This is an extra copy I picked up a few months ago; as an extra copy, it rarely ever gets used, so it's gotta go.
I've had numerous transactions on this forum, so purchase with confidence.
My asking price is 330 USD which includes shipping and paypal fees.
Thanks for your time.
-Bernard.

I've had two copies of this lens and I've used them with my 30D and 40D bodies.
The 85 1.8 will blow the 50 1.8 out of the water in image quality and auto focus accuracy + speed. You will absolutely love this lens.

The 85 has USM and the 50 doesn't so 85 should focus faster, quieter, better.

It's an excellent portrait lens, but my for my outdoor portraits, the 135L gets used most of the time. I just love the 135L and have adjusted my shooting style for that particular lens. For indoor work, the 135 can be a tad on the long side. So that's when the 100 Macro or the 85 1.8 come out to play.
It focuses in low light a lot better than the 50 1.8, and a bit better than the 50 1.4 in my experience. Furthermore, shooting wide open, your depth of field is going to be so narrow that you're going to need accurate focus with moving subjects. For that, I would choose the 85 over the 50 1.4 and especially over the 50 1.8.
It was hard for me to part with my first copy because it was so fantastic, but I needed the money at the time so I had to sell it. I bought my second copy just a few months ago, but haven't used it as much as I had expected. I've changed as a shooter, so the 85 gets sees very little use. It's a superb lens every time I pull it out to use, but like I mentioned earlier, the focal length is just not for me anymore.
