Here's a thousand page long thread on the ST-1
http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_4416588/tm.htm
Thunder Tiger is the parent company to Associated. Thunder Tiger put out the ST-1 as their prototype race truck and evolved it into the Associated RC8T. The truck use the same driveline, spurs, gears, driveshafts, and diffs. Aside of a shock change and arms the trucks are identical.
~ This Thunder Tiger ST-1 truck has 5 SETS of race tires @ $110 PER SET.
~ Picco .21 race engine with 1.5 gallons of 30% Byron Racing fuel through it.
~ Spektrum DX2 Digital GHZ Professional Race radio.
~ Spectrum 3000 Digital race reciever
~ Hitec Metal Gear Servo's
~ OFNA chrome top starter box with +12v gel cell INCLUDED!
~ Race bag big enough to hold most everything needed to race.
This is a $1700.00 professional race setup. It is faster than HELL and all top quality. I will let this go for $350 shipped.![EEK!](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/eek1.gif)

^^I have one of those as well
Dunno why they designed an off road truck that can only run onroad, but..... it's a fun truck.

Probably because you don't have the right setup. It's no 4wd monster but it can definitely handle it's own. Throw on some Proline Moabs, add stiffer diff fluid, you'll be fine with that 3.3 engine pushing.
Check out the Traxxas forums, there are plenty of guys on it with ridiculous off-road setups.
