True..in a way, Storms have SIM's (Subscriber identity module)for the Global support. Example mine has a Vodafone card in it for Europe. Verizon's USA is CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access) non SIM type carrier/network. But when not in the USA is uses the SIM to connect to networks.

Wait, is it just the Blackberry storm or any Verizon phone? Every phone place I go into, even including ones that repair phones, told me I can not use my T-Mobile sim card in any Verizon phone. Does it need to be un-locked? I had Verizon YEARS ago and could have sworn no sim.

The phone is unlocked as stated in the first post.
The phone does have a SIM card...as do most CDMA world phones.

No, it's not that I don't understand.... I have been burned SO many times. You get a little gun shy. I have spent so much money on phones and I really need to know and understand why I was told something different. That's all. No biggie. I'm looking for a blackberry for my 14 year old. So I bought him a bb and now it doesn't work (used), he's using the T-Mobile Tap, hates it because it's not a bb. I have a Palm Centro....he doesn't like it. Going to put it on Craigslist. I have a Razr, can't text.....the list is endless! So, you're not being rude, you just don't understand my circumstance. There's a method to my madness....

let me try... Verizon's own network does not need (and has no use for) a sim card, but SOME phones sold by Verizon do allow a sim to be installed and used when on other (GSM) networks like AT&T, T-Mobile, or most foreign networks. a storm is one of those phones. i have a storm 1 and it's great. i don't keep a sim in it cuz i'm on verizon.

so an unlocked storm can be used on at&t and t-mobile.
