I have an Iphone 3G (16 GB) in excellent condition with some minor scrapes on the back of the phone (from case). Absolutely no scratches on screen (was protected by screen protector when I purchased in May 2009. I have removed it prior to placing back in box).

Comes with all accessories (headset still in original wrap), manual and box. It was on 4.x firmware (sorry don't remember which). I have erased all data, so you will need to resync up.

I've restored the phone and the oldest backup firmware I have is 4.0.2.

The phone is not jailbroken. I'm not an expert on this, but from what I've heard, it's really easy to jail break it now. For those in the know, feel free to comment on this based on my firmware version.

If it's on 4.0.2 then it can be jailbroken and unlocked. 4.1 update would lock it to AT&T.

These usually go for $250+, try craigslist in your area. For $200 its a quick seller.

4.0.2 can not unlock with that version, I may be wrong, but I tried that version on my iphone4 could not unlock, but 4.0.1 you can unlock

 

i know you can do 4.0.1. My 3g was on 4.0.1 after it bricked itself and i had to update. Its very simple to go back to any firmware you like, just download the correct ipsw

 

You confusing jailbreaking with unlocking. Jailbreaking is the first process and then unlocking is another part. Currently, the 4.0.2 firmware on 3G should have a modem/baseband of 05.13.04 which is unlockable. Upgrading to 4.1 would prevent it from being unlocked due to a new baseband/modem update along with the firmware.

BTW I've unlocked 5 iPhone 4s already on firmware 4.1 so it can be done, you just have to know how. But then again, you might be confusing jailbreaking with unlocking.
