The next time you make a change to your plan or get a phone upgrade through verizon the unlimited data plan will go away. So the new every two $100 discount or resigning a contract to get the 2 year discount pricing on a phone from them will remove your unlimited data option.
You will stay grandfathered in as unlimited as long as you keep your current phone or buy a phone outright from somewhere else, once you acquire another phone you can just activate the meid on the website to switch devices and not affect your plan or contract.
