I bought this one back when it was on sale for 750+ tax a month and a half ago.... def an awesome TV. I used to have a 65" Mitsubishi Diamond Series 1080i HDTV, picture is just as good, if not better.
Also... if you use your sears card you get an extra 10% off..... so $699+tax.... already a better deal than what i got.

this is NOT a 1080p tv, true 1080p resolution is 1920x1080, not 1280x1080. however if you supply this tv with a 1080p source it will scale it and display. some have reported that the picture looks a little squished, that's not too surprising.

I have heard pretty much 1080i is pretty much almost sames as 1080p, but only diffrence if you watch very close, you can tell the quality is not the same, but if from a distance they both look the same, beside i dont think there is quite alot of channels that is displayed in 1080p

1080i
I dont know why people worry about the 1080 deal??? As far as I know 1080p
is not available over the air in any form! The only thing you can watch at true 1080p is with the use of a 1080p DVD player and of course the movie.
Now how many times or better yet how many hours do we use our tv's to watch dvd's??? Then why worry about 1080p or 1080i ???
It has very limited use anyways.............I am happy with my 720 plasma, HD channels look great on it!

Just go pickup the 50" version of the same TV at Best Buy for $996. Extra 12% off (~$875 + tax) if you are a Reward Zone member and have the monthly coupon they mail out.

yea 1080i and 1080p are very close to each other. but the different resolution is what set them a part. the picture on the 1080p will be sharper. they have different refresh rates like 24 60. depending on what type of tv you have. costco has a lot of philips lcd up for sale. philips are in the decent range :].
