The least risky investment there with the best return from a reputable bank is the WAMU 8 month CD with a 4.25% APY.

I'm no sure about that, wamu is having A LOT of financial problems, I will not feel
safe putting my money in there right now

My friend who's a teller at WaMu said a lot of people are pulling out their money out of WaMu... probably not a good thing.

Hmm...countrywide bank is not on the list? I've been with them for about three years now.. pretty good place to put your money as well

I believe you'll only have a problem with WAMU if you have money over $100k since they are only FDIC insured up to $100k. At the moment, I'd still keep my money at WAMU without hesitation. Their E-Saving just jumped up from 3.25 to 3.75 in the past couple of week.

HAs anyone had any experience with the HSBC savings account? I may check out WM CD's.. Sounds like a pretty good return for 8 months..
