I usually just run down the street and pick up a SuperTech filter from walmart. Supertech filters are made by champion labs, same manufacturer as Mobil1.

Also, I buy the PL20195 filter. It's the same thread and base diameter as the GS300 filter housing. Only difference is that the filter itself is about 1.5" taller to provide more filtration area for less restriction.
how do u like these supertech? i got their synthetic oil and oil filter, havent yet trying them on yet. they are much cheaper than mobil 1 that's for sure.

6 pieces is not enough for the free shipping, you have to get 6 sets or 12 pieces. What I am I going to do with 12 filters...

Keep in mind I'm buying the extended length PL20195 filter. It costs $11 for a pair. So I bought 6 to get in on free shipping($25 order to qualify)

Awesome deal!! Studies show the PureOne achieves close to 99% filtration and effective by-pass. OEM filters are not up to par.

Thanks OP.

Hey JeffT,

The spec's say it doen't fit your car?? I've got a 1999 GS400 and like the idea of a bigger filter. Anybody out there in Lexusville using the Pure One PL 20195 on their 98-2001 Gs 400's?

Will the larger filter work with the 2jz-ge?

The larger filter is confirmed to work on a 2JZ-GE and 2JZ-GTE for our cars. It SHOULD fit on the GS400/430 because it shares the same thread and diameter filter, but I can't 100% gaurantee it. The main thing you have to watch for is if you have additional room for a filter that is 1.5" taller. The GS300 has plenty of room and can use a 10" tall filter if they made one that big.

OEM filter specs:
Thread: 3/4-16 in.
Casing Diameter: 3.0"
Filter Height: 3.8"

The filter I use has the following specs:
Thread: 3/4-16 in.
Casing Diameter: 3.0"
Filter Height: 5.2"

As you can see the filter screws on and seals just fine to the factory oil filter flange. The only difference is that the filter is taller so you get more filtration surface area and thus lower resistance and better flow through the filter

I would guess that it would work. The larger Toyota filters that are made in Japan fit on my grandfathers LS and my GS. This is probably a cheaper alternative then those filters.

P1 filters are pretty good. Subaru uses them as their supplier

I bought 10.. (20 total)...damn, I guess I will buy the longer filter too. I should have waited to see if the longer one fits.
