Mid-Ohio...put your Lexus on the track August 7th
Hi All,
I'm with the Goodyear GT Redliners Car Club, we are having a club day at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course on Saturday August 7th. We have an infield parking corral and we will be taking a couple of parade laps around the track prior to the start of Rolex Race. (Lexus has won the last two races in this series).
Being as I'm the only Lexus in the club, I'm looking for a little help against the sea of Beemers, Porsches, and Vettes that make up these events.
If you are interested in hanging with us and having some fun, taking a couple of laps around the track, great photo op's .......... let me know.
Race info is below along with ticket info:
“Daytona comes to Mid-Ohio” when the Grand American Road Racing Association brings its dynamic prototype to town as part of the Rolex Sports Car Series event. These two seat, closed-cockpit cars are powered by many of the world’s major car manufacturers, including Ford, Toyota, Porsche, and BMW.
With a glimpse back at Mid-Ohio's endurance racing history, the Rolex Sports Car Series race will take place Saturday evening with a start time of 5:30 p.m. The two-hour, 45-minute race will conclude as the sun sets over the rolling Mid-Ohio hills.
Support events for this weekend include the Grand-Am Cup series, Formula Renault, BMW Car Club of America, and a Formula Ford 2000 Zetec Championship doubleheader!
Advance purchases for this event are available through Wednesday, August 4, 2004. A Weekend General Admission ticket WHEN PURCHASED IN ADVANCE to the Mid-Ohio Road Racing Classic INCLUDES A FREE PADDOCK PASS. It is not necessary to order a paddock pass separately when purchasing this ticket.

Additional info:
There are no special requirements, you will need to sign a waiver to get on the track.
We are going to get on the track at roughly 4:30 before the Rolex race, the cars will need to be staged probably by 3:00. When you get to the track, drive to the infield and look for "Goodyear GT Redliners" after you cross the bridge, we will probably have a corral set up on the right with signs. I'll have a red 95 SC400 parked there, I'll probably be there by 10am or so.
If you haven't done this before, we will take a couple of laps behind the pace car at controlled speed.
I post more information as I firm up the details.

re: 95RedSC
Bring it on up! We are going to have quite variety of vehicles.
I cross posted this in the Supra forums, looks like we may get 3 or 4 more Supra TT's showing up also.

When you get to the track there will be both a corral sign and directional signs leading you to the "Goodyear GT Redliners" corral in the infield.
The parade laps are still scheduled for 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. All drivers and passengers will need to be in the corral and at their cars at 3:30 p.m. to sign the waiver to go on track. Both drivers and passengers are required to sign the waiver. Adults will sign for any minors (17 and under). Drivers must be 18 or older.
I will get to the track at roughly 10:00 Saturday.
The Rolex race kicks-off off between 5:30 - 6:00, bring your coolers and folding chairs , you can sit pretty much anywhere you want around the track. I believe there is a video on the Mid-Ohio website that takes you around the track, and there is also a track map.
My name is Mike and I will be driving a red 95 SC400.

On a side note, Dunlop (Dunlop is part of Goodyear) is looking for potential show cars for "Hot Import Nights". We have a Dunlop show area at each event that uses local cars.
Hot Import Night's will be in Cleveland October 9th.
Obviously the cars cannot be stock and have to be in concours condition. I'll make this a seperate thread next week after the Mid-Ohio race is wrapped up.
If anyone knows any Lexus' that meet the requirements, tell them to come down to the race this weekend so I can see the cars in person.
Thanks

EV ftw!!!
How far is this from Mississauga, Ontario, Canada?
I am suffering from an acute case of "car meet" deprivation.
