Well i was wondering about the weight differences in all of these cars. I am thinking about doing a turbo someday and was wondering if it would be worthwhile to turbo the gs or move to another platform. Here is what I found out for all of you that are interested.

2003 is-300 stick
3,255 lbs
near 50/50 weight distribution

1995 sc300
3,500 - 3,550 lbs (i'm guessing it has to do with manual/auto tranny)

1995 supra
3,215 lbs (turbo)
3415 lbs (non-turbo) <---- Interesting

1996 gs300
3,660 lbs (5 speed tranny in this one, pre 95 was 4 speed dunno the weight affect)

Very interesting stuff here what shocked me was that is300 weighs 10 pounds more than supra turbo and its 4dr. Of course after addition of turbo and upgrades that will go up but its real close to supra weight and the almost 50/50 distribution is nice.

Also I was not expecting that a gs300 weighs only about 100 lbs more than an sc300. I think of this as making the gs worthy of turboing since all the sc300 guys are at it.

Looking at this from a critical standpoint, I like the is300 but I think the interior sucks, its not up to par with what I think lexus should be. Even though they are heavier I like doors with leader door panels etc. I think the gs is also way more comfortable and looks better when done up right, especially first gen. The seats in the gs aren't that good for a turbo app and I think 4 sparco or recaro racing seats would not only hold you in place better and be more comfy, but also reduce weight by alot. I mean how often do you use the power seats I just "set it and forget it.

I was bored had to do something lol. Hope this information will be usefull somehow.
