Default Intake Complete

Hey guys,

This project was started last week and I finally finished today. I sanded off all the chrome from the pipe and it looks really clean with a nice satin finish to it. Cutting roughly 4-5 inches was the hardest part..

After completing the intake, I noticed more airflow and more exhaust fumes coming out of my exhaust. When I say fumes, I do not mean white smoke, just normal exahaust fumes but MORE of it. This is due to more airflow going into my car and more airflow leaving the car.

The weird thing is that I noticed my brakes are more responsive now. Meaning I don't really have to apply the brakes to hard and it would stop. (On a side note, when i have my foot on the brake and then turn off the A/C, the brakes will go down a little before) What do you guys think?

Overall I am very happy with this new mod as my car sounds deeper and alot meaner. Here are a few pics.

Bryan

Thanks for your nice comments everyone.

I'll replace the tubing and the wires with a black one so it looks non-rice. hehe

Hey man,

If they don't make it for your car, might as well DIY. Plus, its more fun and you will learn more. hahahah

Hahha,

LS400's do not need intakes.

True.....it doesn't make no difference on a 12 sec.(0-60, not 1/4 mile) car.

More air and more responsive and free flowing. Do you have any input regarding this part of my post in the 1st post below? (no need to quote, it's me. haha)

I'm not too sure about the extra exhaust fumes, maybe the computer is just getting used to the mod. Give it a few days and it will figure itself out.

As far as the brakes go, I don't know what the cause is. Fortunately it works out for the better. I did notice that the brakes on my car would go down a little bit when I turn on the A/C, but I think this occured even when I first got the car.

I have the same A/C thing going on. hehe. Its weird.... Can't expect too much from a 9 year old car.

Really nice work. I like the ductwork you did on the stock intake for maximum cool air.
