Need Help. Car won't start.
My lights come on, the radio comes on. When I turn the ignition it just ticks repeatedly. What is it? What can I do? Please help. I have a 96 GS3.

Could also be worn contacts on the starter motor. There is a write-up somewhere in the SC forum about how to fix that. Could just be the battery. Juice to run the radio < juice to start car.

Try turning the headlights on. If they are dim, probably a bad battery or badly corroded battery connection (or a loose connection). Try working the battery terminals back and forth and see if they are loose or corroded. If they are not and the headlights are not full strength, you likely have a bad battery.
If the headlights are full strength, you could have any of a number of problems and we'd need more info. Post an update when you go through this.

At lunch I only had enough time to try and start it. It started right up. I cut it off and tried to start it again and it did the repeated clicking sound again. What do y'all think?

Thanks, to everyone for their responses. I learned a lot. Anyway, it was my battery contacts. I cleaned my battery posts and clamps and it cranked fine thereafter over and over. Again, Thanks, to everyone that responded! I love this forum!

FYI. If anyone ever has a similar problem to this one and it turns out to be the starter, Toyota sells a contact kit for $22 a piece. It takes two to complete the starter overhaul, but it is good as new and better than the price of a new one. Message me for more info if needed.
