hood struts gave up! and got hit on head!
damn, that hurts! yeah.........my hood struts finally went "dead" lst week as i wz doing a
routine maintainance.....checking fluids and stuff.....so, where can i get some cheap ones on-line?
pls dont tell me to go to a lexus dealer if thy will charge an "arm" and a "leg"....hehehe

I think this has been discussed before and there are not too many alternatives. I remember someone here bought some struts that lock in place or something like that. Unfortunately CL was not able to get a group-buy for the struts.

Has anyone tried mcmaster.com for replacement struts? I'm sure they have a replacement and is likely where the seller on ebay gets his. If not, I'll figure out which one it is, buy it and try it, then post the details, but I was hoping someone else had already done the legwork.

Yo Indy i know how you fill man, mine are out also and people want a lot for them. I have been lookin around tryin to find some, but no luck, Also i seen the pic's with the rims painted blk, with the white paint it looks good. , Hell every time i have seen your car it looks good, Keep up the good work,

tks for good complements. i posted a thread rgdg change of color of my wheels.
i had posted the photoshop that wz done by gstrance, cl moderator. i wanted to see
how it wud look in gold or rust color.
well, fr the hood struts, i guess im stuck using a goddam vicegrip to hold it! heck,
tht's wht ive been using just to hold that thing before it hits my head again!!!..he.h.eh
im planning to sell my rims sooner or later. i want something new for 2004, a new look that is for my car.
i will post it up here when i finally decide.

I have to use them also. I seen the pic's with the painted rims. Once again you brought a look that you dont see any where else.The way your car sits is off the hook with the kit you have on it. I am thinking about getting one put on mines, but its just so damm hard finding one that gives me the look i want that want cost me my Heart and Kidney. . I recently put some new rims on my car. I went with some BR5 19x8f , 19x9b with a deep lip. It change my whole look. love it. Its some pic's of it on the south Fl. meet we had. LIke LexAristo said , once you go dish you never go back. Once again keep up the good work all my 1st Gen family members

yeah, im stuck using the damn vicegrip to keep the hood up.......
i guess ill keep my rims fr now and deal with it later. heck, im working on a new project
of mine, i recently purchased 1990 nissan 240sx and im trying to fix it up a little...nothing big.
just another car as a daily driver. heck, you know how much our gs eats gas, bro......
i dont what else to do to my gs exteriorwise. my sounds are good for now even though i need to
update door speakers very soon as those stock ones begin to sound really cracky!
right now, im dealing with this weird noise when you rev up the car....mostly likely a worn out
tourque converter cuz every time i bone out, i get this weird burnt smell coming from my tranny.
now, that sounds like a major overhaul or something but i dont want to think about it yet.
