Exclamation HID Installed with Pictures

I got myself a gift for getting good grades: an HID kit. I bought it from KWImports (thanks Bryan for the recommendation . It is the Phillips 6k kit, cost $475.

It was a pretty easy installation, the hardest part was finding good spots to mount the ballasts and the relay. Initially I wanted to install the ballasts behind the bumper, but I couldn't get the headlights off. It was good that I didn't install it there because it would be difficult to gain access to it once everything is put back together. I finally settled on installing it on the fender next to the air-cleaner box and on the other fender next to the battery.

Here is the passenger side ballast. I removed the air-cleaner assembly and drilled holes in the fender to mount it.

Here it is when everything is put back together.

Here is the driver side ballast. I removed the battery so I could mount it to the fender. As you can see, I mounted the relay that came with the kit to the left of the ballast. After reading a few threads on CL, I decided to install the relay and wiring harness that came with the kit. From what I've read, this is the proper way to do the install, although the HIDs can be installed without the relay and harness.

Here is the driver's side after everything is put back together.

And the result I love these lights!!!

Thumbs up Hid Kit

Nice lights my gs is the same color as yours and I also have my ballast hidden in the same location. I guess you have graduated from having those EBAY 40,000K QUASI-PLASMA BLUE FAKE-ID bulbs.Automotive lighting is like sex ,after your first piece of tail you cant get enough.I had a hid kit with 4300K PHILLIPS bulbs and HELLA ballast. but when I roll up next to an oem system I got shut down by their lights,I had the bling but not enough output so I ditched my projectors and bulbs and retrofitted some HELLA E55 projectors and OSRAM 4100K bulbs. The difference is night and day, now I want Tiguy to hook me up with some TSX for my JDM lights I bought from EBAY,HID is addictive and fortunately we are a bunch of addicts looking for our next fix.

geez Eric, that looks terrific. Can you tell me.. did you have to modify the headlights at all? Or is this Philips kit compatible with the 9005 bulb socket? Did you do anything to change the high beam?

Regards,

Brian
