Well, if you don't know what has been going on in the SC forum for a year now, here's a thread link:

I have recieved so many requests to map out the GS cluster so it can be changed over to the 10k Hyper White, Green, Blue, or Red background that i have made a full study of the unit and am now finished. I can change out the backlight as of right now.
Also, if you can find a set of 92-94 SC needles, you can have the only GS in the world with blue, green or white needles! All it has to have is the white face on the needle rather than the red face.
So, anything you see on the SC is now possible for the GS. Currently, the GS's have red needles and yellow bulb lit amber background. without doing anything but sending the unit in, the backdrop can be changed over to anything you see in the pictures i have currently in my SC forum here: Click this
For those who are unaware of what LLS is and myself, check the homepage for the writeup. Not only am i your loveable CL Super Mod, I am an independant EE and have completely redesigned the cluster and needles for Lexus auto's. Noone was willing to come to our rescue, so i took it upon myself to do so. We are the ONLY Lexus aftermarket specialty lighting service in the good old U.S.A.. Others have half heartedly tried and failed, but i have personally been doing this to help my CL brothern for over a year.
If you guy's have any questions just let me know. This has been an FYI that now for the first time the GS clusters can do everything the SC clusters have been able to do with the 10,000 mcd custom backlighting. Add a set of early SC needles in there, and you have a one of a kind GS cluster.

pretty much anything done is a 3 day job., if it's just backlight bulbs, 1 hour and reshipped, but there is no need to send it in for just stock bulbs. those are easy. LED's is a different story

I need new needles too, but I was reading through the sale and it said you need the gauge cluster shipped so the new needles can be calibrated. That's the only thing stopping me from buying them because I don't want to pull out the cluster (and risk breaking some of the old brittle plastic), nor do I want to ship it and risk it breaking during transit (I know I could get insurance, but the hassle will be ordering the new parts and having the dealer adjust the speedometer, and of course the downtime).
All I really want is my tach needle to be fixed with the stock color, nothing fancy. Is there any way to just have this one needle fixed without having to take out and ship the cluster?

they wouldn't match, plus there wouldn't be much point in having a needle that points in the wrong direction from being uncalibrated.
i *MAY* have a solution, i'll pm you.
BTW, there is no such thing as brittle plastic on a cluster. everywhere else on the car i agree, not on a cluster. i have shipped hundreds, only lost 3 due to damage, the odds are pretty good.

the needles are up to you. as far as the backlight goes, it is all led's and everyone that has tried it has failed in keeping it from spotting. I have went through painful measures to engineer a solution that works.

Lately i have been able to find a certain few SC needles to swap over to the GS so they can run any color. Availability is here and there, but usually obtainable.
I also sucessfully fired the GS needles with the Waterfall design so now i can do any GS in waterfall red for $99 for all 4 needles.
