Default Do GS300s with Trac Control have different Transmission than GS's without Trac?

My transmission is going bad and I found a transmission, but the only problem is the GS 300 had Traction Control. Im wondering will the transmission work on my car because I don't have Trac Control. My car is a 94 & the transmission I found is for a 94 also but the car has Trac Control.

Ps.. Also will a transmisson from a 95-97 bolt right up or will I need a few parts to make it work? I know 95-97's are 5 speed and mines is 4 speed.

You could try some autoRX www.auto-rx.com in the tranny and see if you can save it while you are waiting for a new tranny. It can allegedly bring them back from the brink of death and its like $20.

I used it in my engine and I am a fan.

The problem im having is my trans have alittle delay when I put it into Drive, and it have a Thump when I put it into Reverse. It have been doing that for a few months now I thought it was the motor mount but it isn't. So I brought it to a Trans shop and they said the trans is bad.

Do you think Auto Rx can help that?

I imagine you're looking at around $3000 for a new tranny so what the heck it couldn't make it any worse and if you're not satisfied you can ask for a refund. I would do it.

I put some of that stuff in my engine and I think my rear main seal leak is going away.

I looked on their site and someone with an LS400 is raving about it but you're right they don't mention problems with reverse....

Just wanted to let you know that's an option. Anyway,

The tranny is the same for both TRAC and NON-TRAC and from my research it looks like you are supposed to use a transmission from a '93 or '94 car. Other than that you might be in untraveled waters.

Pianoman - how did you validate the effectiveness of auto-rx? Just curious as most of these products, while true to form in that they are mostly solvents, usually don't do much to the engine. In addition, if they did and dislodged sludge without dissolving it, could cause even more damage when that chunk of sludge clogs an oil line to a critical engine component.

Default You could also try something else..

A few years ago I had a tranny problem with my car and I used LUCAS. You can get it at almost any auto parts store.I had only 2 gears before lucas and I magically had 4 after using it.It's thick like syrup so be patient. What do you have to lose?I would try both and stick with which ever works best.Just remember thats this is a temporary fix.Good luck and let us know how it goes..

That's why they have a treatment length on there, for example for the engine it's 1000 miles or less and then you are supposed to change the oil and filter. I have 200 miles left on the treatment but when it's over I'll take a pic of my filter for you guys and we can see if it caught anything.

I don't believe in that engine treatment stuff either but bobtheoilguy.com or whatever was where I heard about it and that dude knows what he is talking about.

Did you ever swap your tranny? What year and how did it work out?
