Default moonroof noise?

Hey all, this is my first post! I just bought a 99 GS400 and so far I'm in LOOOOOOOOVE. I have ALWAYS wanted one of these and I still can't believe she's mine. The only thing that's bothering me is a little noise from the moonroof.

I know it's solid because I've washed the car quite a few times and there's no leaking, but when I'm driving I can hear little "clicking" noises when the moonroof is closed. It doesn't make the noise when it's open or tilted, just closed. Anyone else had this problem?

I have a 1990 LS 400. . . I have the exact same problem and it drives me nuts! It's worse at highway speeds and with the shade open. Someone else recommended to me that I manually tighten the moonroof. I didn't help in my case, not to mention the moonroof tightening bolt was already super tight, and wouldn't budge even under the pressure of my foot on the angled screwdriver. But anyway it's worth a try, but if it doesn't move don't use excessive pressure. It doesn't take much effort to move that thing, so if it won't move it's good. If you don't know where I'm talking about, it's this big flat head screw above the dome/map light/moonroof control panel. You have to remove the cover, remove the screws, pull out the panel and you should be able to see what I'm talking about. Lexus should have also supplied an angled flat-head screwdriver in your toolkit(if you've ever wondered what it was for). This is all mentioned in the owner's manual on the topic of "if the sunroof won't close."

Default THANKS

Thanks, and you are right about freeway speeds, it is way more noticeable then for me too. I'm lucky my lexus had low miles and I was able to get a warranty on it for up to 100,000 miles (only has 40K right now). I guess I could see if they can do anything about it at the dealership, but wanted to know if I was crazy or not.

One more thing, I tried to display a pic of my car, but couldn't do it. Any advice?

Lemme know what the dealers find out and how they solved it, would be great! In terms of your pic, I think CL has certain size limits and only accepts jpg's if I remember correctly. . . you might have to downsize your pic
