Default Stock 94 gs300 ps? And differences between years of GS's?

First I did a search on google and here on the forum and didn't come up with much. What is the stock horse power for a 94 gs300? And my last question is what are the differences between trim levels and years of the 1st gen gs300? Thanks.

220hp if I recall correctly on the stock 2JZ Supra motor.

There was a Touring model that I know of that had Traction Control. But I have traction control w/ no "Touring" badge, so anyone else care to chime in??

Difference throughout the years were traction control and the newer ones had 5 speed auto.

The touring editions had the option of adding a wing, had the touring badge, and a different type of rim.

Traction Control was offered as early as the first year 93' other options included heated seats and Nakamichi Sound system. With all the options a 1st Gen GS would cost over $52,000. That's why you didn't see as many GS300 on the road back then. In terms of price the New GS400 is more comparable to the old GS300. I have a model description of a 97 GS 300 but the file size is too big for me to attach it here. But here is the text:

******

The Lexus GS 300 is unlike any other luxury performance sedan. It handles both curves and straightaways with calm, even-handed balance, while always ensuring the comfort of you and your passengers.

Beyond its European design and aesthetic appeal, the GS 300's exterior is also aerodynamically efficient, just one of the reasons its interior is so quiet and its highway ride so refined.

The GS 300 also benefits from a highly sophisticated, five-speed automatic Electronically Controlled Transmission with intelligence (ECT-i) that makes the GS 300 even more responsive. But like all Lexus cars, the GS 300 puts luxury first. So it surrounds you with polished walnut and available sumptuous leather trim,1 plus a high-output audio system.

CHANGES MADE TO THE 1997 GS 300

No changes made from 1996 model.

1Leather trim is optional, fabric is standard.

2The Lexus driver's and front passenger's airbags are a Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) designed to inflate in a severe frontal collision. In all other accidents, the airbags will not inflate. To decrease the risk of injury from a deploying airbag, always wear seatbelts and sit upright in the middle of the seat. Do not put objects in front of an airbag or around the seatback. Do not use rearward-facing child seats in any front passenger seat. The force of a deploying airbag SRS may cause serious injury. Please see your Owner's Manual for further instructions.

3These performance capacity figures are for comparison only, and were obtained with new prototype vehicles under test-track conditions by professional drivers using special safety equipment and procedures. These should not be attempted on public streets or highways.

4Preliminary mileage figures determined by Lexus. See your Lexus dealer for details.

For more information, call 800-USA-LEXUS (800-872-5398). Lexus reminds you to wear seatbelts, secure children in rear seat, obey all speed laws and drive responsibly.

I have a question though, has anyone put a 96,97 transmission in a 93-95 GS?

Alot of people held off on the GS and opted for the LS for a couple grand more. That's why there are so few on the road..

How much was the Traction Control option and do you all think it is/was a worthwhile option ?
I mean even now does it make more sense to get a 1st gen GS300 with TRAC ? thanks

I forgot the exact price but it was somewhere between $3000 - $5000. Yes it is worth it but it is rare to find a 1st Gen with it because at that time it was such an expensive option. A indicator light flashes on the dashboard when the traction control is working and you have the option of turning it off.

Yesterday, i had my dad in the car, it was had recently rained, and i decided to punch it while i was in a turn from a standstill. The wheels spinned for about a sec. but since we were making a right turn the rear end of the car went to the left for just a sec. then the traction control kicked in, diverted power from the spinning wheel, scared the pants off my dad I laugh and continued punching it until he screamed SLOW DOWN , SLOW DOWN !! LOL
