The airbag is a good thing to keep. I would suggest against changing to a non-airbag wheel. However, there are some aftermarket woodgrain steering wheels out there with the airbag like the ones on the second gen GS but the typically cost over $1000.

If your leather is messed up, club lexus sponsor leatherseats.com can sell you a new steering wheel wrap.

If your steering wheel is a little worn out, you can send it out to
http://www.american-stitches.com
They can re-wrap it and add wood grain to your factory wheel..Can you guys guess what's my next mod???

I don't know about the es, but the sc and the 2nd gen gs wheels do fit..the airbag is another story though..The airbag plug has to be adapted to fit the first gen plug..Hope this helps..
