Cool JZS147 Drift..many pics

I was finally able to get my buddy with his camera over to the shop to get some of my 4 door Supra drift craziness on film.

This is a closed lot, actually the street and parking lot leading to my shop.. so this is not public roadways..
*steps off soapbox*.

I have no more power mods done to my car to enable this.. just the same stock 213k mile motor with 2 nearly dead cylinders.. Same 176rwhp and 162ft/lb.. blown stock shocks and Eibach Pro-Kit springs. In other words.. if you can drift this car, you can drift damn near anything!

here goes.. lotsa pics, will post them 3 to a post.. enjoy!

more coming..

Default and the grand finale..

Okay, so you remember that part of the Big Lebowski where the "dude" hits the dumpster and the front of his car bounces about a foot off the ground

uh...yea..

she peed herself..

anyone recommend a good wheel repair specialist for forged rims??

gee guys..Supra brakes dont do you any good in the air..

the time has come..

well, thats it. the car is now parked in the garage. I'm working on stripping the GTE motor down to a block and then I'll pull the drivetrain from the GS300 and mash it all together.

pics will follow..of course.

Hope you enjoy a few shots of the other lives of 1st gens

Very nice! Will u consider making a video for us to watch? =) I suggest coilovers with stiffness adjustment over sway bars. Besides your car will be lower.

Default way ahead of you there..

Japanese Yahoo to the rescue.. my HKS HiperMax will be here in about 10 days. I will be upgrading the 10/6 springs on them to a more race friendly spec though.. probably about 16/12 or so.

I have some footage of when he were running up in the lot of an abandoned factory.. lots of high speed sweeping drifts that ringed the outer part of the lot. So many stones though some of the shots of the car are blocked out in the dust. We are working on doing more.

It was from this day, a few months ago

In that session I was running my stock rims on the rear and burning them up at about a pair every 30 minutes. I was also doing just inertial and braking drift, where I'd stab the brakes to lighten the rear end going into a turn and then balance the resulting slide with the throttle... fun, but the gravel was a little tricky.

Now I'm e-brake drifting..

very lovely pics and nice drifting, i know this doesn't count, but i practice every chance i get when ever it rains here in cali with my drifts and i'm getting pretty dam good at it. the back end of the gs is really easy to swing around.

hey dont feel bad about drifting in the rain. In fact, at low speed it used to be the only way I could swing it out. Now that I'm gaining skill in using the e-brake I can get it out in the dry road whenever I "feel the need"

The rain is when I first started messing with the ebrake and got proficient at J-Turns. I'm just going off the suggestion by Tsuchiya in his Drift Bible vid, except I'm using a much bigger car Practice makes all the difference.. get yourself some cones and a empty lot. I got to the point with my Corolla where I can j turn on a dime with it and then 360 around the cone keeping the nose right on point to the cone. Working on that with the GS, but the stock blown shocks and open diff are killing the consistency.. will be changing soon!

The suspension and prodigious amounts of power will make it an entirely different car

Thanks, but I'll be needing a little more practice. Just going to try and run some local track days this season and get the setup right. Hopefully with a little sponsorship help (tires!!) I can compete next season. This is only the beginning!!

Thanks Warrior. I'm just amazed at how much potential the car has. I'm beating the daylights out of it, running 1st gear most of those pics and all I managed to do was pop a hole in the upper rad hose (coincedence, it was weak anyway) and bend a Volk rim on a curb... oweee..

I'll be doing a tranny cooler along with the GTE block in this round of mods.. may also look into modding a Griffin Supra radiator to work in the GS.. just in case.

Cant wait for my coilovers to get here.. then you'll see some crazy stuff.

your using the e-brake to drift? I find that really hard to do with the stock foot pedal location did you modify it to the conventional lever type e-brake? Sry about the rim man i did the same thing drifting but luckily i only blew a tire.
