when i first start my car it idles at 1500??
hey everybody i have a concern with my cars start up...every time it start it it stay at 1500 rpm for a minute or so...is that normal for a lexus??ive had so many cars and when id start them up theyd idle at 1k then drop a little when warmed up....but see with the first start up of the day when the engine is at it coldest it idles at 1500+ rpm till the temp guage is between the querter mark and half mrk then drops to 1k??if this is not normal what can be the problem?? thank for the help

yes normal. its just the engine warm up, but you should never warm up your engine though. as soon as you start your engine you should drive right away within 30 seconds but don't floor it right away. just drive lightly for the first 5 minutes or so. long idles is bad for your car. lots of people get this confused.
