Thanks. I tried pulling it a little bit but I figured I would break it I guess.

needle nose pliers really help, some reason mine are real hard to grip and pull without my fingers slipping and me falling foward smacking my face on the speaker box.

my trunk never has been a problem, its the damn hood and having to use vicegrips to keep it from smacking me in the head I am worried about

Default bolts are stuck!

I tried to remove the passenger side bolt and its rounding...I tried everything to get this thing off. I will likely have to drill/cut if out. Also, the replacement strut did not come with a new ball end. Seems others have this. Is this other's experience with this? I looked in the shop manual and it says these bolts were originally inserted with an adhesive to hold them in! no wonder I can't get it off! I have not tried the driver's side yet, but it appears as tough as the pass side. This sucks.

Default Got'er done!

Had to drill out the strut ball end and pull off the ball. Replacement popped right on and then I fabricated a small metal bracket with some metal wire to keep if from coming off the other end. Trunk is fixed and holds strong again... although my wife has a bit of a struggle to close it, but at least its not falling on our heads anymore...

Thanks!

How about hood struts, any alternative to those rather then 300$ for oem?

ditto, need hood props. I got the TPD (trunk props of death) and after a year or so of usage they are barely loosing strenght... I think they where designed to launch tose pesky people that tend to sit on trunk lids; just hit the magic button and KABAM! watch them fly over your car! Seriously, probably if I had a spoiler it wouldn't be so bad... it is funny how now whaenever i'm going to open the trunk at home people clear the area lol

i got mine off a seller of ebay, came with ALL parts needed to install, and the hood ones are so hard to close, i almost have to use two hands to close them and the trunk ones are very secure and strong, my spoiler i have on it, weighs ALOT surprisngly and on some warmer days it's pops the trunk all the way up, and on the cars without spoilers, they pop the trunk up all the time, even in colder weather
