GS300 vs SC300 - Need FACTS!
I am only interested in 93-97 (first gen) cars and stats for the moment thanx!
Does the GS300 93-95 and the SC300 93-95 share the same drivetrain? More importantly.... I am looking for Toyota/ Lexus part number verifications.
I need to know the tranny code for an Automatic SC300/ GS300.
Is it the same as the tranny in the SC300 (automatic)
Do the SC's and the GS's share the same driveshaft? and/or Diff?
If so what is the part numbers?
Are the ECU's swappable between both cars if we stay OBD1 on both?
I am gathering some data because I may be taking on a pretty nice project
What if any parts can be used from a MK4 Supra on a 93-95 GS300?

I have a 94 gs300 with the 2jz-gte swap and the automatic transmission. I have several friends with the 92-94 sc300 with the gte swap as well. The MKIV SupraTT rotors will swap over as well. Unfortunately I don't have part numbers for you. The intercooler piping from the supra won't fit as far as I know. I actually have the motor out of an Aristo and from what I have seen, the jdm ecu from the supra and the aristo have the same pinouts. The people I know with the SC's have the 5 speed transmissions(r154 i believe) and the automatics. if I can think of anything else I will post.

I am thinkin of swapping an R154 into a GS. I need to sort out driveshaft length and other such factors before I even begin sourcing parts. If the GS and SC share the same driveshafts, I guess I could use the same solution as the SC guys. If not.... I guess I will have to make driveshaft.
I am very interested in talking to SC or GS owner that has done an R154 or W58 (not V160 6spd swap) swap OR.... has good technical knowledge on the issue. 6spd swap is too expensive and requires more mods than the 5spd swaps.
I already have DaveH as a great source of knowledge, he hs provide great insight from a Supra point of view. Now I just need some SC and GS guys to chime in with personal experience.
I am also looking at how can I relocate the Parking Brake....
Options are ... LS400 style with pull lever in the Dash or on the center console.
