Well I finished installing it and my initial reactions are WOW.

Compared to the civic pipe, it felt different and the sound isn't has high pitched as the civic pipe.

I cruised over to my buddy lord of the celsiors house to have him floor my car up and down the street a few times. With the combination of my exhausts and injen intake, it sounds like a cold air intake as well as a Infiniti G35 coupe.

I also left the custom heat shield behind the INjen heatshield to reduce the hot air and it worked.

The first picture is what I would like to leave it and the second pic is the current state of my intake. Do you guys think I should have it set up as #1 or just leave it as #2?

The greatest thing I have to admit is that my Check Engine light dissapeared.
Then again, it was probably because I disconnected the battery before I installed this intake. hahah

It's actually blocking the hot air from the engine as you can see in the pic.

Why don't you try each setup for a few days to compare them to see which one is better. I would think #2 would be better because it's getting fresh air from the part of the stock intake that goes above the radiator to the stock airbox. Maybe you could aim the heatshield so the opening points toward it.

Looks good though

actually I forgot about the stock inlet, I have not had one in forever (bolt broke off), if you have the heat shield opening aimed right at that inlet, that would work nice. adding some hose to direct it even moreto the filter like the SRT has for the IS, would be slick, and use more of the filter element .

hehe i see we both think the same. I just put in a sheet of aluminum to block off he whole intake area from the fan which blows hot air into the bay. Unless you do that hot air will still heat up that heatshield and get around it. And since you have on Bryan i think that injen shield is pointless.

Also I'm not doubting you Bryan but I find it hard to believe that the injen sounds any different than the civic pipe because it is the same physical size and shape and does not have anything different to affect sound.

Looks good though.... my cold air sounds better lol i need to paint it before i post up pics though.

hot air is all over the engine bay.You guys need to pipe cold air from outside the engine compartment. The filter shield is piontless.M/O.

Thanks alot for all the input! I didn't feel any low end power loss.

Well at least Sally digs the setup.
