Default JZA80 fmic kit for GS300??

Does anyone know if any of the front mount intercooler kits for the jza80 supra will fit on the gs300 with a gte swap? I was looking at the greddy 3 core kit. You know Jeff? Did you get your clip yet?

OK i could be wrong here but this is what I ran in to and what i have decided to do. The front mount kit is going to be a pain in the butt to do. In order to fit a front mount on the car, several things have to be moved and cut. The powersteering line has to be moved, the air conditioning lines and canister have to be re-routed, you will need to get a thinner fan, horns will need to be moved or gotten rid of, and a few support brackets will have to be moved. Now to run the piping, the frame will have to be cut above where the tow hooks are. Here is a picture in case you haven't taken your front bumper off....

the red has to be moved and the blue has to be cut.
Depending on your reasons for a fmic (ie... looks),how much power, and on what psi you plan on running it, a side mount seems to be the way to go. I have called a few places and have been told that a greddy side mount can hold atleast 600hp. That is what i am working on getting now. Hopefully a friend of mine will have one to sell me here soon. The JZA80 piping will work. The side mount I have now is off a mkiv supra and the piping is as well. I hope this helps. Keep me updated if you find anything else out please.

Most of that is normal stuff when putting on a front mount on most cars. The fan is already taken off of my car and the horns are an easy relocation. The ac canister and lines should be pretty easy to relocate also. The lines are aluminum and fairly pliable. I'm not sure what the purpose of the power steering lines are running up around the front and back. It looks like that line could be cut and made shorter. I was mostly just wondering if all the pipping lined up from the jza80 kit. Thanks for the pic.

Hey guys.. no I havent gotten that clip. I had my bumper off the other day also and was looking at it it for a fmic. I'll be doing the swap in March.. at least putting the GTE head on the shortblock I have in the car already. Looks pretty standard for the piping routing.. you may need to have access to an aluminum welder to change the bracket locations on the intercooler if you are using a MKIV kit. I'm making mine from scratch so it wont matter.

good luck!

oh hey Destin, did you decide if you wanted my Aristo HKS Sport exhaust?

UHMMM!
That's the power steering fluid cooler. I would reinstall another cooler elsewhere if you remove the front one.

Damn.. I hate American servicemen in Japan.

Yes, it will bolt right up to 3". There is plenty of meat to port out the inside of the flange, I have a 3" flange on the 2.5" DP right now.
