When I bought mine, it started leaking from the drain bolt. It was because it was cross threaded. Start by checking there as it could be a faulty crush washer/ gasket for the drain bolt or cross threaded like mine. If it is cross threaded they will be able to fix it with a helicoil. If not there check around the oil pan where it bolts to the block. If it sis leaking there you will need a new oil pan gasket. Hopefully it is leaking from wither of these two places because if its not, its possible that its leaking at the rear main seal (between transmission and block) or head gaskets. These are more costly areas. What part of Texas are you in? There are several Toyota / Lexus specialists in the major cities like Dallas / Ft. Worth, Houston, Austin and more. Most of them do quality work and charge quite a bit less than the dealer.

I would say don't take the car to your mom's house anymore, It obviously doesn't like rolling up there.

Check the filter to see if it's tight, check all the items in the post above. I would say take it to a decent place for an oil and filter change and see what they come up with.
