Default Check eng light

This is a basic question but I couldnt find it in the search.
My 1994 Gs 300 is randomly throwing the cel on cold mornings. I want to pull the code.
Are these OBD1 or OBD II ? and where is the plug to pull codes and where can I find a list of codes other than the dealer etc....

Thanks !

Get a paper clip or a jumper wire and under the hood you will a small black box that says "diagnosis" directly behind the powersteering resevoir..Open it up and jump Te1 and e1 and then go inside your car and turn the ingition on but dont start the car..The CEL light will blink and pause and then blink again..For example if your CEL blinks 3 times and pauses and then blinks 1 and pauses and starts the same code over again it means that your throwing a code 31..Do this and post what code it is throwing and I will give you the diagnosis for the code..Hope this helps..

Cool

It's OBD1 and more than likely it's an oxygen sensor if the car has around 100,000 miles and they've not been changed, There are 3 of them

I had the engine check light on and my problems were the famous EGR valve and TPS sensor. I actually have an extra TPS sensor because i bought one, but when i went to my mechanic he also had one and told me to return mine, but i couldn't because dealers won't let you return electronic stuff. so if anyone needs a brand new TPS sensor PM me.

There is a code 17. It says "CMP 1" which seems very ominous.

I got the manual, too, and it doesn't list a code 17, as turbo said. Just try pulling the code again.

Look at the list for without OBD2 here http://www.troublecodes.net/Lexus/

It shows a 17. Sorry for trying to be helpful. It won't happen again.

It's wrong or it's for a different model lexus as pianoman and I are telling you. There is a code 71, which is one I've been seeing come up frequently on the 1st gen GS3's.
