Try the ligthing forum. I think all your questions can be answered just by the stickies alone.
I say go for the HID conversion Kits available. But read up on it first. That forum will be your study guide, tip sheet and personal assistant.

You should buy a 6000k kit with a 9005 base. 4100k are the brightest compared to the 6000k and higher bulbs. If you want the brightest, then get the 4100k, but most people choose the 6000k bulbs because it provides a more bluer light without much loss of output. Anything higher will be too blue and not bright enough. Some people/websites say that anything above 6000k is brighter, but that's BS and you'll be disappointed with the light output.
You'll want a 9005 base, which means the base of the bulb is made so that it fits into the stock headlight. The 9005 base makes the installation plug and play.
Additionally, you'll want D2S bulbs, which are meant to be used in projector headlights (the ones you have). There are D2R bulbs, but those are for reflector type headlights (like the 2nd gen GS).
So remember these numbers when ordering: 4100k or 6000k, 9005, and D2S.
Here's a thread I made about the installation of an HID kit on my 1st gen GS https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=107009
