Many JDM kits are made for Japanese cars and require modification or removal of the crash bar. It really depends on the kit. Some fit well enough with just some shaving while with others, it may be simpler to just remove it.

yeah i had to take off mine

in the front atleast

makes me think if these companies put a little more thought into it

and could make it all work together

id like to make a body kit where you have your own design

but make the mounting holes perfect

neo ...care to work together on this LOL

Yeah, that's the risk you take when you mod the car. Everyone with JDM kits take the risk. That's why a lot of times if possible, shaving it might be a better option. Good luck with your situation.

Yup. Some kits need more room than others. You just have to play it by ear.

Why don't we compile a list of body kits that require the removal of the crash bar, and a separate list on ones that only need to be shaved, and another for ones that fit perfectly, etc...

I don't have a body kit so I can't go first.....

Though specifically I am wondering if the Admiration body kit require the bar to be removed.

I like the Winn Racing knockoff (Erebuni) but most of the websites that list it say that extensive modification is needed to fit the US model. Does this mean the crash bar? If so, I would just use a cutting wheel to contour the bar to fit and then weld in filler plates to keep the crash bar for insurance purposes and rigidity. Anyone know?
