The way I set mine, if I recall correctly, is by getting at my desired speed, press the button to make the cruise control light come on, then I press from the top of the switch so that I'm pressing toward the floor which sets it. I'm not questioning your method, but that's how mine works. If you have tried it this way, it may be the cruise control box itself. I'm sure others will chime in with better details.

yea, and from there you can hold it down and your spedd will slowly increase til you let go, or hold it up to decrease your speed

first of all the green light has to be on (obviously), second of all you have to be going at least 25-30 mph. push the level down towards the floor to set initial speed. then from there if you bring the arm up it makes the car go faster, and if you bring the bar down it slows down the car. and to cancel anytime just press it towards your body or tap the breaks. if you press the gas at any time it will go faster but will just go back to the cruise set speed once you let go of the gas. finally to resume your previous speed setting just press up once and the car will go back to the speed it was at before you stepped on the breaks or canceled.

When the cruise speed is set, is there any light to indicate it other than the green crusie system on light?
