What do you mean? I'm aware of the reasons to maintain backpressure in a NA setup, but my car was always planned for boost, so I figured that I would accept any losses for the time being until it was turbocharged. What I was surprised by, is that there were no losses. When I installed my first HKS exhaust.. the Sport JDM exhaust for an Aristo, I built a custom Y pipe, and also built a downpipe with no cat. Not too long ago my 220k mile precat clogged up and I gutted it also. I have over 100 dyno runs on my car in all of it's configurations to show the power gains at every step of the way. I was surprised also at no loss of low end torque with the completely free-flowing system installed and tuned. But then again, we are talking about an inline 6, not a Honda 4 cylinder.

If that is not what you were referring to.. please explain so I can understand.

im talking about the stock exhaust. bends at 20 different places, doesnt go straight thru the cat, goes in from the side and out the bottom. just "too conservative" for me

ah.. I gotcha. Yes, I'm not sure what Lexus was thinking when they built that exhaust. Yes it is quiet..but boy is it restrictive. One interesting thing I found too.. there are weights actually bolted to the exhaust in the back. Real nice find there.. each one weighed about a 1/2 lb or so. Reminds me of the twin turbo 300zx..in the rear hatch on the side opposite the wiper motor a weight is bolted to balance out the car.

LOL. That is me. I was all "forked" up. We had a party at the shop a few months ago.. it was cold outside.. thus the hat.. and we were eating lots of food and drinking lots of beer.. my partner is a punk and snapped the damn pic. Oh and I'm stoopid enough to put it in an avatar..

**Update**

Took the car to the track last night with a group of guys. Ran on 245/40/18 Nitto NT555 Extreme street tires, still open stock rear diff. Loosened up the damping on the rear shocks and dropped the tire pressure a little.

2.1 60 ft, was wheel hopping a little off the line and then a little spin and she took off.
