Well, its not a V8 swap, but till something you gys might like

I crashed my SC300 this past week, and I'm pretty sure my car is going to get totalle out. So I'm thinking about picking up a 1st gen GS300 and swapping over all my parts, including the 1JZ-GTE Anyone seen this done? I would think that it would drop right in for the most part....

yea theres a member here on CL, stocksc300, that swapped the GTE into his GS. He never posted much about it but if you PM him he will probably help you out.

this is just a thought, but I wonder if anyone ever put a Ford or chevy motor/trans in 1st or 2nd gen Lex GS?

I know you couldn't really call it a Lex-but imagine a Ford small block roller cam crate motor and Tremec 6sp in a GS

I thought about doing this because of the cool factor but then it looses the 2jz and the smooth lex ride of the inline six.
If I did it, I would do a 347 stroker with a P1SC procharger. Im not into chevys. I do like that new alum. 6.0L GTO motor !
Like I mentioned earlier a 430 engine would be sick but the cheapest I have found a complete unit is 6k. You could fully build a 2jz for that much. Or pick a crate from the BIG 3 and have TQ.

The other day I rode in a customers 72' Chevelle. I used to love muscle cars and the ride in this made me remember why It was a big block with nitrous 4.11 rear and not alot to hold on to. IN 4th gear when you can roast the tires at 80mph is pretty nuts. Thats what gave me the V8 idea on a smaller more or a sleeper type scale. With the engine I just dropped in a couple months ago I have really good performance and still have luxury. It is what I fight with the most the fact that I may lose some of that. But on the other hand I guess thats what dynamat is for.

Same here. My buddy has a 89' stang notch. Its got gt40 heads Mac headers, basanii X pipe
Mac cats and 3" catback. Procharger P1SC w/ 11lb pulley. 440 RWHP thru a tremmec TKO 5spd
Holly fawk its insane. I have had a 412 HP civic which was lighter by a bit a prob could have kept up on the top end but this stang is nutz. Fourth gear on the on ramp and the tires are lit up like an inferno !
I think that would be cool as hell in a sleeper lexus.

I've wanted to take a UZ and build it up to an NA monster for a while now, bore and stroke up, higher compression (ie shave heads), all lightened and balenced internals, prolly do twin thottle bodies. which would entail a lot of work, but I think it would be well worth it.
