common logic would leave you to believe that because both the generations of GS300 share the same engine, that the sencond gen 400 could fit in the first gen 300...

dunno havent heard of anyone doing this. performance mods dont really go beyond I/H/E for most 1st gen owners, and its much easier and cheaper to strap a turbo onto the2JZ instead of throwing a 1uz into it

I'm trying to find the link
there was an AWD UZ version of the 1st gen in Japan
you could do a crate motor swap into a 1st gen if you wanted
plenty of room

with a UZ
I wouldn't want to go from OBD1 to 2 though

anyone have any pics or tech info on the 91 Aristo awd? Sounds like fun. Wonder what Toyota parts bin it was sourced from to create it.

I thought about doing the new 430 motor or a tundra motor with TRD charger but its cost prohibitive. I could build a sick 2jz.

I was actually thinking about this last night after detailing a cl members gs400. When I did the hood and was doing my finaly clean up I couldn't help but notice that the engine would be a relatively easy swap. I think i can get a wrecked gs400 with a good motor and trans and I dropped it on my wife earlier today on the highway. The length of the overall car is longer correct so I would need custom driveshaft and possibly motor mounts but i think all in all it is reasonable to do raher than do the twin turbo that I was planning on doing.. If anyone has done this let me know of any major obstacles you may have run into.

Quick Reply: Anyone ever put a GS400 engine/trans etc. in a 1st gen GS?
