Haven't been able to use my normal digi cam, but here is a cell phone pic. The dashkit is slightly different in color as compared to the a/c controls. The unit also has the actual speed of the car while in motion. Noticed that it was 4 miles slower than what my dash says, because of the rims.

i was thinking of getting a nav system... but i heard they get jacked so often.... how do you prevent it? i know you can take the screen, but its not like a cd deck where as the face plate is worth everything and the rest isnt worth anything. im scared to buy it, any suggestions?

Don't get a double din and get a single din so that you can take off the faceplate everytime you park the car. Also get a good alarm.

Nice setup Bryan

You got the N2!..The PIONEER AVIC-N1 i think was not available when i got the KENWOOD KVT-911 DVD w/ 2 6" screens installed on the headrest on my 2GS....The Pioneer is the best unit i think out there...it has a lot of features and looks hot

Congrats.

Wish you were at the LMS meet so I could see the install. I've been wanting NAV...this isn't helping me resist.

bryan -Looks great ! I didn't know that this unit had all those cool features and I was going to skimp on the nav. Seeing yours made me reconsider! You west coast guys are lucky with all the events you have.

Default n1 vs n2

Can you watch DVDs while you drive?

i heard the n2 won't let you do run the dvd while you're in motion because it ties into the internal gyroscope or gyrometer or whatever it's called to see if the car is in motion.

the n1 (which is what I have) just has to be grounded and it works fine but I heard the updated DVD for navigation will make it perform more like the n2 as far as checking the gyrometer before letting you watch DVDs.

Just wondering.

Thanks!

yeah I can watch dvds and change the address on the navigation. I have 2 bypass switches which had to be put in to do it. This N2 is a great unit, but very complex to bypass.

Hi LexAristo,

I was looking at the N2 that you have and was planning to get it but have a few questions I hope you can help me answer.

1. Can I hook it up with my current 6-disc changer or will that be obsolete?
2. It says that it will download the map you input into memory so you can take out the map dvd and listen to music. So wouldn't it be inconvenient if you need to remap and need to change cds again ? Anyway to have two dvd players in there?
3. Would like to get that bypass switch you are talking about so DVD movie can be watched while in motion.
4. Since this is 1 din, does it come with that cover you have to blank out the other din ?
5. Is it possible to put the DVD higher and the Temperature controls below?

Thanks!
