Default Key battery replacement

This sounds like a no brainer, but before I break anything, I hope to get some feedback. I'm replacing the batteries in the keys for my 94 GS300. Those are the keys with the remote button on the side. I'm able to unscrew the little screw and pry the two halves appart a little, but then the other ends stay conected. I can't seem to slide them in any direction. I hesitate to pry them apart any further for fear of breaking the plastic. So, how are the ends, opposite from the screw end, attached?
Thanks,
Jon

Default figured it out

I figured it out. After removing the screw, I had to keep prying the two halves apart while pushing the half with the screw hole in it away from the metal area. Grime had caused them to stick together. No, the performance hasn't improved, but they now work again.
