Recharging A/C in a 1994
I have a 94 GS. I know they stopped producing the R12 freon in 93, and some companies didnt fully switch over until 94. So I was wondering when did Lexus switch over, or how I can find out what freon is in my car. I know you can look under the hood, but unfortunatly, I no longer have the hood that came with the car after I got into an accident.
Also, where is the low pressure port located in our cars? Ive searched these boards and others and could only find out that the LS has it on passenger side near firewall, I found a cap there that says "L" and its black, but the adapter to recharge the freon doesn't on that, there is another located behind the front bumper, that doesnt fit either. Is there one I am missing?

94 is R134a, follow the larger, cooler line to find the port. I think it's near the passenger shock tower. It should be the one marked "L". If an R134A gauge or tap doesn't fit someone may have changed it out to a alternative freon. Each type of freon has a different fitting, so they are NOT mixed!!!

I figured it out
One in back where you said
BUT with the fitting on the port, the hose wasn't long enuff to stretch out the engine bay far eunff to hold the freon upright.
there is one in front as well, in front of radiator, you see one with a H on it and down near the bottom with an L, thats the one I used and now have cold air that I have to turn down in 2 minutes to keep my hands from freezing stiff to the steering wheel :-D
