hi im thinking about getting some 18" rims, they are 18x7.5 with a 5x114.3 pattern and a +40 offset........ i guess my question is will this not only fit, but not provide any problems as well? what offset is the best for a 18" rim that is 18x7.5? 40?42? thanks i hope someone can help me out

To answer your question those will fit, but why run such a small width. Our cars can easily have an 18X10 in the rear and an 18X9 in the front. as for offsets it just depends how close you want to get to the lip of the fender go with a lower offset in the rear something lower than 30 and for the front stay below 35 so you could get that nice fit...

Yes, they will fit. my Volk TE37s are 18/7.5 and 18/8.5 with a +40. only prob is in the front, with the offset I have to run 5mm spacers to clear the mk4 brakes.
To counteract how small they look in the rear, try staggering the tire size if it is all that you can do..or run a fat 18s setup, 45 series tires instead of 40s.
You can fit a 235 or even 245 width on the 7.5 rim in the rear and run a 225 or 235 up front.
