Question Burned cd's are skipping & crackeling...why???

Whenever i play burned cd's in my changer, they play for a little bit and then start skipping and crackeling. After about 1 or 2 minutes of that, the cd stops playing and it says "ERR." I went to the lexus dealership and they told me the reason for that is because burned cd's are a different thickness of what a regular cd would be. People have told me to scratch the side of the cd with a pencil but that doesnt seem to help.

My question is, has anyone found a certain brand of burnable cds that will consistantly play without skipping in my trunk changer?

Any other reccomendations??

It may be the discs or the burning software. Also alot of the older CD changers won't play burned discs because of the reasons I mentioned.

I have no problem playing Staples CD-R burned cd's. I burn them with Roxio. Give it a try and I hope it works for you.

2006 GS3 is not comparable to a 1993 GS3, next!

I think you're going to find it's a compatibility issue, like trying to play dvd-r on a dvd+r player

That sucks. I've played 6 7 dif kinds of burnable cd's and they all seem to skip. I also began to notice that burned cds only start skippin and actin funny when it's 1/4 way into the cd and till the end of the cd....perhaps its a lens problem.

I'm begging to think that i have no choice but to get a new cd changer....not neccesarily a pioneer/lexus one but just one that will fit in there. Any suggestions, price range and would i be able to do more than 12 discs??

Burned cd works perfect on my girlfriends car. She has a 93 GS. It just really depends on the brand name and type of cd you use. I find that blue cd's work better than the gold colored ones. Also try to burn at a slower speed.

It could be your burner, try using a different burned cd from another computer.
