Default Those who own 95 and lower fuel..need info!

I got a 95, and my specs say that i have a 21.1 gallon tank, but i don't think i do. When the arrow was on E, i was still only able to fill a lil more than 16 gallons but the light never went on. Does that mean i have a 17.7 gallon tank??

What kind of gas mileage do you all get in warm weather? I got 18-19 with fairly genorous driving

What about in the winter time? First cold weather just hit and i got 13.5MPG??? Thats outrageous....Any tips??

i've got a 93 and i've never been able to put more than 18 gallons in my car. i seriously doubt that our gas tank is 21 gallons.

as for gas mileage - i average similar numbers to you with gas mileage 18-20. we dont really have winter here in cali so i cant speak for that.

Default small engine power upgrades

Anyone else got any input on this?? It kinda sucks that we get low mileage like that. In the near future, I'm ganna get new sparkplugs (Iridiums ofcourse), distributor cap and rotor, new k&n filter, maybe that will the mileage and power of my car. (with all that money spent on this stuff, i could of just not bought it and saved but this will be good for my car)

I wanna make my car faster, but i don't wanna spend much money on it. Besides an airfilter, what can i get to raise the horsepower???

I've got a 95 GS, I think once I put almost 19 gallons in that bad boy. So I think that we do have a 21 gallon tank, but I think that maybe the light comes on too soon, so we fill up when we still got several gallons in there.

As far as gas mileage goes, I live in CT so it gets cold here. I average anywhere between 17-23 mpg. If I take the car from CT to MA where my friend lives I get 23 mpg on the highway but if it's regular day to day driving I'd say 17-19 mpg of mixed driving (highway / city).

I get about 18-19 mpg, and thats with punchin it a few times, i figure if i were to drive a whole tank and not push it above 3000-4000 rpms(which is do able) i think i could get about 20 to 22 in the city. on the highway...well I will let you guys know as I am about to go to Louisiana and I usually get about 25-27 when I go. Maybe its my K&N filter cuz i know the estimated mpg when it came out was like 18 city and 23? highway. Anyway, as for how big the tank is, i have to say its at least 20, next time you get to the halfway mark, fill your tank up, you will put about 10-11 gallons in...at least I do.

I filled up yesterday with 3/4 tank full and filled up and put 4.5 gallons. (Carwash deal) So idk, i don't want to run the tank out almost to the end, or atleast until the light goes on...no exactly good for the car cuz of all the dirt on the bottom of the tank n stuff.

How do you all drive?? Seems like if i baby it under 3000 rmps, i waste more gas then i do when i accelerate 3000-4000 rpms. I don't understand. I'm putting in my K&N filter today, see what that does.

I'm still getting horse $%#% mileage and i never go over 4000rpms. And i do 40% highway, 60% city. 15mpg yesterday when i filled up. Any suggestions???????

I have a 1993 and it's not 21.1 gallons. When I fill it up, I think it's only a bit under 17 gallons. Unless the remainder is just a reserve tank...

17.4 imperial gallon or 21.1US gallons! Your gas tank is not OEM or is damaged or your gas gauge is off if you're getting anything else

What does imperial mean? Are your sayin all 93-97 gs's have 21.1 gallon tanks? Even if my arrow was down to E and i was able to fit just under 17gallons?

Imperial gallon is used in the UK. Yes 21.1 gallons total counting reserve. When your gas gauge is on E does your low fuel warning light come on? If not your gas gauge is off or the sender is out of adjustment. Unless the tank is completely empty when filled you'll never see the 21.1 gallons

I don't let it get don't that low, never past 1/4. How long can you drive on the gas light until you completely run out??

That all depends on how accurate your fuel sender is. Drive your car till the light comes on steady then fill it up. Subtract the amount you put in from 21.1 gallons and that will let you know your reserve when the gas light comes on. I'm betting it's about 2 to 3 gallons at 18-20 MPG. Gives you about 36-40 miles reserve. I don't advise on letting it get that low nor making a habit out of running it low. Gas has come down enough that it's not neccesary to try and skimp on it. Nor is there any reason to let it get that low.

The most I have ever gotten out of a tank in my 93 GS300 is 398 miles. Averaged out it was almost 25 mpg.. and this was with fast hwy cruising on my GTE (8.5:1) bottom end and no turbo (s) yet.

Most I have ever put in the tank was about 19.5 gallons, this was after driving to and from work with the low fuel light on for 2 days..LOL

I agree, the 93 GS has a 21.1 gallon tank. I looked right down into it when I installed a new pump last week.
