Default Butt warmers not warming

Hey guys, i got a 95 gs that has useless seat warmers. I start the car and only about 5-8 minutes i begin to feel em warmin up. I sat in my buddies 03 monty carlo and his warmed up almost instantly and nearly fried my a** when on for more than 2 3 minutes. Anyone else having this problem?? Is this even a problem? Maybe thats just how the car was designed. IF it is a problem, how much to fix it or even how to fix it.

Thanks....let me know!!

Well I don't have butt warmers and in NJ it gets pretty cold. I just kinda sit there, take the cold, and eventually you get used to it. lol Or if you don't mind the smell...just pass some gas and warm the seat.

Mine work too, but just takes way too long for them to warm up. By the time i feel them kickin in, the climate control just about kicks in so it kinda makes it useless, but it is kinda nice tho.

Anyone have any ideas on how much it could cost to fix? Or how much for the parts? Or even what parts i need. Does anyone know how to fix it? Let me know!

Well i have both a GS and a ES, ones is a 99(ES) and the other is a 98(GS) my es seats get really hot and my gs seats get hot after i roll for a while. so maybe it might be diff models have diff warm up times on it.

Can't be that big of a difference whether it is an 03 or a 95. He's got newer technology in his car thani do, and his car breaks down more than mine. Just an example.

How much for a seat warmer??

Okay, i have a new theory. My warmers work great everynow and then. Sometimes they kick in really fast sometimes they do after 5 10 even 15 minutes. But when they kick in...they really kick in so i know they work. I'm thinking theres a bad contact somewhere where my butt sits. Anyone have any ideas?

How many amps are your seats and how many in your friends car? One set of seats could pull more power than the other. Being that you have a 80 amp alt it doesnt' surprise me that you would have low amp heated seats.

Funny thing about that is that his warmer on the driver's seat went out haha

Kaiser, so ur sayin that it could be because not enough power is goin to them? Because i'm still trying to get that 100 amp alt in but i can't seem to find anyone to do it. (excluding shops) Or is there still that possibility of a loose wire

No, I'm saying that no matter how much juice your alt puts out, the seat may not be drawing that much power.

Hmmm mine doesnt have but warmers (southern car) but now im toying with the idea of adding them myself, anyone done this or heard of it??? im thinking id have to find a wrecked car and try to get the seats, switches etc... ???? wonder if the wiring is the same just not use some extra connectors somewhere??

sorry xeeeeeem im not able to help other than to suggest an alarm with remote start (viper) then you can start the car from the house, go out 15min later and its all warm and toasty inside (chilly in the summer too)
