Has anyone tried to install a V8 in first gen gs300? Or, does anyone have a V8 in their first gen gs300? Does anyone know anyone who can install a V8 in gs300 in southern calif?
I am studying to see if it is possible - I hope to keep the car for a long time to come.

I have been pondering this type of engine swap for many years..But when I approach a shop with the idea they arent very certain if they can actually do it and they want to charge an outrageous amount of money so that they can figure it out along the way..I like the idea of producing an extra 50-60 hp by just dropping this motor in and not have to worry about blowing turbos, or any real kind of tuning.. Not to mention that these motors are inexpensive..

I live in California with emission control requirement, so I don't think GTE/GE engine is an option unless I have someone willing to pass the smog test everytime.
I hope to learn as much about V8 transplant as possible, so if you have any web site or any reference material I would appreciate your guidance.
I hope to do a V8 transplant instead of buying a new GS.
