Default How are the Yokohama tires in snow..

Hey Guys,'Great board here lots of info...and ways to spend money.
I have an 2004 GS430 with the 17" Yokohama 235-45-R17 tires on the chrome rims. My question is: How bad is this car gonna handle in the snow? i owned a mustang GT some years ago so im familiar with poor handling. But am I in trouble here..This ca has a ton of LOW ned torque.
I've been looking for a set of take off rims with no luck yet. I was just wondering in I am really screwed. thanks. Buggs.

Hey, I don't think the chrome rims are ganna effect anything.....jk
i got a 95, with yokohamas ice guard...i think that what their called. All i can say is WOW. The car handles great with these tire. I can stop on the dot in the snow, accelerate fairly easy....as long as you go easy on it and it turns with ease....I drove a 98 volvo s70 and a 94 Mazda 636 and those didn't even compare with how the yokohamas handled. I would definetely recommend gettin these tires!!

Default No No No

Never drive chrome rims in the snow. They handle fine but the salt that is put on the road after the snow fall will ruin your shine.

This man... He speaks the truth.

I've had Yokos on almost all of my cars. Great wet weather handling, but the snow traction was terrible. This is with the older AVS 500 series (I think that's what they were), and the newer AVS db2 and V4S series. But they do have some intended for more adverse weather conditions. Can you specify what series you've got?
