If you've got an engine check light that means you can do an ECU diagnostic and pull the code which should point you in the right direction. An OBD2 reader will help. Not sure if or how to do it on the GS without one of these but a supra can be diagnosed using some shorting links in the diagnostic ports. Do the lights go back off if you restart the car in the warm or when the car is warm? Stock response to lights is do an ecu re-set but I'd wait and see what your dealer or mechanic says the light is pointing at before I'd do that.

Dunno how fuses could cause a problem like this just in cold temperatures. However a sticky butterfly valve in the traction control part of the inlet manifold could feasibly cause a problem if the housing was shrinking more as its aluminium and catching on the valve part thats not shrinking as much because its steel or the traction control valve operators get sticky in cold weather but thats just a pure guess.

OKits a OBD1 then lol. You can use a shorting link on the diagnostic port on the GS then? Where does it read out as I'd like to see if my car has any stored faults? Is it the same as this basically?? http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=35920
