then what should be done or bought so that it's not ugly? i hear if you replace your wheel with another, your airbag won't work. and i dont wanna be driving and hit my face on the wheel if i crash. i mean yea sure they'll be all like,"wow nice wood wheel" but my face is smushed. see the dilemma?

Not true, If you must have woodgrain there are other options. However, it's your car do what you like. I wouldn't put that on my Lexus as it detracts from a nice interior by making it look cheap. Now if they had wrapped the woodgrain around the middle more it would have improved it much more.

Hay! you can use another lexus wheel like the (LS/LX). Look for a 00 w/ the airbag it is a single-stage that will work. You might need to change the plug but that is easy part.

Thanks for the info, I will do that.

Turbo and kuzini,

It's a temporary fix until I figure out what I want to do.

Understandable, you have a good looking car, just don't get too attached to that cheap steering wheel cover

Looks nice , but once again you lose the airbag. Just send your steering wheel to American Stitches for new wood/leather. They repad the wheel with new rubber, then create a wheel which looks like the one that comes in the GS430 complete with thumb rests at 10 o'clock and 2 o'clock if thats what you want. The quality of their work is excellent. Use the search function to review threads discussing this mod with pics and details of the quality of their work. I have seen it first hand, it is equal to or better than OEM.

Last I checked airbags are fairly NEW, I might be a few years older....But, I don't think they're NECESSARY by any means. Just cause they passed a law making then mandatory. They did that with seatbelts too, but how many of you wear those?

Dont know about you, but I wear my seatbelt everytime I go somewhere in my car even if its to my friends house down the street. You know you are a safe driver..but what about that one idiot thats on the cell phone or puttin on makeup or eating. I am not a person to go around trusting people to know how to drive. Just thought id put my 2 cents.

LexAristo, I think that momo wheel looks hot.
