need advice from all member in purchasing a 93' gs300
i dont personally know the person; but it's my friend's friend. he's selling his 1993 GS300 for 3600, which i will lowball due to:
232k miles.
nothing has been modified at all. the car looks EXCELLENT outside and inside. of course there's road wear like a very few rock chips. the only thing i saw wrong inside was the shifter trim got ripped(but can be replaced easily), the climate control lcd is bad(can be replaced easily), and the rpm needle has a glitchy light on it(not sure how to deal with this), but the tach is all in working condition. the car is in very good condition. front seats are worn down and covered with a cloth cover, but the rears are very clean. the trunk is basically brand new. i didn't get a chance to look for moisture, though. the car shifts a little rough, but is that normal? feels like driving a manual car throughout shifts. there's power there, but it feels like it will need a tune. there is a faint ticking sound very similar to a timing chain sound from my 96 240sx. damn car feels so cozy hah... what should i do? i have no maintenance records of this car, but i do plan on inspecting it at the dealership a few blocks away... 80 bucks or something like that?
no pics on this ride sorry, but it looks very clean like any other maintained 1st gen gs300
i also found a gs300 for 6500 with 165k miles. this car has been modified though. 19" wheels, optima battery, kyb agx/intrax shock spring combo, audio stuff... didnt' get to check it out yet though, but here's a pic of it
they're both two tone, white/greyish. what to do what to do.......

What years are the cars...you said the first one is a 93. Thats the first year this car came out. Granted both of these cars are gonna treat you very well. Heres what you have to ask youself...do you want a modded car..or a stock one? If you go with a modded one, then stuff has already been done and you dont know what was done in a shop or what was a DIY project by the previous owner. The second one looks great, but like you said the first one is in EXCELLENT condition. If you are looking for a car to take and make a project car get the modded one. If you want it just for the sole purpose of driving around, get the stock one and make sure the records are good. Either one would be an excellent daily driver, its really about looks.
