Why not just use the aftermarket HU to power the speakers? Thats what I'm doing and it sounds better than stock. Only problem is, the front 2 speakers are 2 ohms, so either you can run it like that...or you can buy new speakers and install them along with your new HU.
I'm not sure if you can do an aftermarket HU and stick with the stock amp. The stock amp doesn have an RCA input and the stock HU doesnt have and RCA output(go figure right). So in order to do something like what your talking about you would have to be very electrically inclined. What you would have to do is do a double line out converter...but reverse it...if thats even possible. I could probably figure out a way to do it, but it probably wouldnt sound as good as just using the new HU to power the speakers.
My write up for doing an aftermarket HU is here .
Any more questions just let us know.

It will sound better. Mine did anyway. The only thing is you have to make sure and get a deck that has at least 10-20 watts RMS per channel. Mine supposedly has 35 watts, but I doubt that.

Ahh, quite right, I forgot about that. Isnt the stock sub 2 ohms..If it is make sure you get a 2 ohm amp and run the gain/input really low, I dont think the stock sub can handle what most 2 ohm amps can give
