i want to change just the rear end mufflers on my car. i plan on doing a chrome theme to it. i plan on selling my 19's and bump to 20 inch chrome, get a chrome grill and my exhaist chrome. here is the thing. i also plan on lowering the car there after, would the car look Better with the classic look of straight pips or is it better for me to get canned mufflers. i am not looking for any power gains, just looks. would this even add power anyway?

Straight pipes seem to Chevy for me. Now, if your talking about having pipes after a muffler like it looks stock, then yes, by all means. But, if your talking about like straight back from the cats, then no. Just whatever you do, dont make it sound like a civic with a just a muffler please.

Ive read that most people say that when they just add a muffler, like a magnaflow or somethin like that, that the car is gonna sound more like a 350Z. If you want, you could take the resenators off, and put a muffler back there and it will probably sound real nice. I have my resenators off and it sounds pretty good with the stock muffler.

Straight pipes will be noisy...
On my brother's car (Link 13), I replaced the rear mufflers with MagnaFlow mufflers & tips.
The car has a nice Supra-like purr at idle, a nice hum on accelleration, and is stock-quiet on the
freeway. I think this is what most GS owners would prefer - let's face it, the GS3 isn't exactly a fast
car, so unless you're doing the turbo swap, why try to make it sound fast?
Here' s a shot of my bro's set-up.
