Default Engine pull in 95 minutes

Got the engine pulled out of the GS today. Whent surpisingly fast. I have pulled about 30 7M's out of supras, cressidas...and toyota pickups and 4runners, but never a 2JZ out of anything. Took me an hour and 35 minutes from driving the car into the garage to having the engine completly out. Now I have to figure out how to get the car to the car wash...237,000 miles will reak havoc on an engine bay.

Instead of a car wash you could spend $80 on a power washer from Home Depot. It's like 1700psi and does a pretty good job.

he's right there. i borrowed a pressure washer from a friend to do mine. he said it was pretty cheap.
i used Simple Green degreaser and ran thru the washer and it cuts like a knife.

engine is out again now.. took considerably longer than it should b/c i had to stop and help customers who stopped in. i'll start stripping it down tomorrow and hopefully get it done by next weekend again.

Yeah, the pit makes it nice. I would rather have a lift though.

I will check out to buy a pressure washer. That would be nice to have.

So Epik...you get the motor pulled?

Oh, I noticed that BOTH off my engine mounts were broken. Motor came out but mounts stayed in. Know anybody that has some?

Call Luis or Gordon at Carson Toyota. Mention Club Lexus 310.522.2300 They were the cheapest by far. I think they were about $100 a piece. The trans mount was somewhere around $60 if you need it.

the last time i bought mounts, i paid 135.00 each. I'd like to sell them actually and go with Supra mounts, which are about 1/4" lower and stiffer. my GS mounts are only a few months old and in perfect condition.

get all the tools that you need so you are not looking for them, start on one side of the engine and work over to the other. Then start underneath. It is also usually easer to pull the tranny at the same time...I think.
