Default 1jz in a gs3

i dont know the differences between the structure of the 1j vs 2j block so to swap in a 1jz,

-do the 1j and 2j share the same motor mounts?
-would the 1j bolt up to the stock 4 speed auto tranny, or would it need a different bellhousing?
-do the 1jz and 2jz share the same sump location (i.e. both front, mid or rear) or would i need to find a different oil pan for the 1jz?

and i do not want to hear about how 1j in a 1g gs3 is stupid, torque this torque that blah blah blah. i just want to know how the swap would go, thank you

Yes it will fit, however you will have a wiring issue. NA-T is much easier.

what type of wiring issue? i have a full standalone system ready; megasquirt. the guy who does them around here builds them cheap and quick. so is full standalone the only issue, or are there other wiring issues to worry about, not related to the computer? (im just thinking cruise control stuff like that)

and before anybody says 'megasquirt is lame' etc, he has an 11sec talon (with stock bottom end) and a 1000hp chevy silverado under his belt. its very versatile and is almost the same tunability as an AEM.

No the ECU is pretty straight forward. It's getting anything in the cabin to work that would be the issue. I've done a 1JZ on a SC300 and even that had it's challenges.

alright well that is the something im not too worried about. as long as it doesnt need different motor mounts and bolts directly to the transmission, im not too worried.

thanks guys
